Advocates across the nation just won a monumental fight to protect the federal EITC from cuts by making key improvements to the credit permanent, along with the low-income portion of the Child Tax Credit. But the work to strengthen this critical support for working families continues, both at the federal level and in states working to adopt or expand their own version of the credit. In these efforts, effective messaging is key.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) and The Hatcher Group invite you to join us for a webinar on how to put your best foot forward when working to advance the EITC. Louisa Warren, Assistant Director of State Engagement & Partnerships at CBPP, will recap what was accomplished in 2015 and outline the work ahead for the credit in 2016. Meg Bostrom, co-founder of the Topos Partnership, will present findings from research commissioned by the EITC Funders Network and Grantmakers Income Security Taskforce, and highlight ways you can weave these insights into your communications work. The presentation will include videos and examples of how state groups have put the messages to use thus far.

Then, we want to hear from you! An extended Q&A portion will follow the presentation, in which we’ll take your questions and hope you’ll share your feedback on the messaging.
