Top Story: The Virginia state General Assembly passed a state budget that will make the state Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) partially refundable. The legislation now goes to Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) for approval and signature. (WUSA 9)
- Given a recent state revenue surplus, Delaware lawmakers are considering enacting or expanding state tax credits like the EITC, tax credits for low-income residents and childcare workers, and a restored $500 tax credit for senior residents. (DPM)
- A recent survey from Parents Together Action found that roughly 48% of parents stated they could no longer afford to feed their families, and more than 90% of respondents said it was difficult to make ends meet since the 2021 federal Child Tax Credit (CTC) expansion expired. (CNBC)
